Dear Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten Families:
The Lower School and Upper School have joined forces to read books for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home away from home for families of children with life-threatening illness receiving care at local Philadelphia hospitals. We want to make helping the Ronald McDonald House a school-wide good deed. Instead of reading books, we are hoping that ECD families will contribute items listed on the Ronald McDonald Wishlist. They need almost everything imaginable, but we have narrowed the list down to the following items, which should be new for the health and safety of the families and volunteers.
• Copy paper: all colors (8.5 X 11 and 8.5 X 11)
• Stationary (teen and preteen)
• Blank journals
• Scrap booking materials and supplies
• Yarn for knitting, crocheting, and appropriate supplies
• Coloring books
• Crayon/colored pencils/washable markers
• Drawing pads/paper
• Self-stick Forever stamps
• Batteries - Sizes AA, AAA,C,D
• Umbrellas
• Hand cream
• Hand soap
• Liquid dish soap
• Dryer sheets
• Sealable storage containers
We will begin to collect the donations the week of February 16 and continue until March 16. Boxes will be located in the Preschool and Prekindergarten area right outside my office.
While the Ronald McDonald House receives about 10% of its operating budget from Ronald McDonald House Charities, the majority of its funds come from contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Let’s do our part to help!
Thanking you in advance for participating in this Good Deed!
Sincerely,
Kate Seltzer
